When I started drawing her, I sensed a deep meditative and contemplative energy. This becomes the perfect condition to connect with the universe. The prayer pose was the perfect way to the channel this powerful energy starting from the crown of her head and emanating upwards in golden yellow light threads.
This chakra is linked to the Pisces astrological sign so I incorporated the symbol onto the robe as trim.
I hope you enjoy her peaceful energy connecting with the divine source now that we have journeyed our way upwards from Muladhara the Root Chakra Goddess all the way to Sahasrara the Crown Chakra Goddess.
How do you connect with the divine universal energy? Prayer? Meditation? Physical activity such as Yoga? Or even eating a piece of chocolate? Post your responses in the comments below.
Sahasrara Crown Chakra Goddess
Color – Violet
Element – Thought
Objective – Clarity, connection to God and spirit, divinity, belief systems, revelation and divine consciousness
Drawing 1
Original pencil sketch of Sahasrara
Painting 1
Transferred the pencil image onto white canvas 18″x36″. Finished up with other details I left out in the original sketch.
Painting 2
Started with her robe outfit in the violet chakra color. I like violet tint color as trim on her robe outfit as I’ve noticed with the previous goddesses there are all painted with golden yellow trim on their outfits. Wanted to stay away from repeating the usual design and explore a different way of expressing this goddess.
Painting 3
Close up on painting her face. I normally paint the skin and add any highlights and shadows before starting on the rest of her facial features. It’s always fun to see the completed Chakra Goddess faces as it gives me an idea of their personality. What is originally drawn on paper may not turn out the same when the painting is finished so I always expect an element of surprise.
Painting 4
Sahasrara is coming out nicely with her violet color robe to reflect the color of the crown chakra. Skin color worked well with the violet color and we see what her personality will be like.
Painting 5
I’ve always sensed she would be a brunette and it suits very well in her wisp hairstyle. Painted a few yellow strokes to add some highlights to her hair. Sometimes I feel like a hairdresser playing with hair colors and the bonus part of it is if it doesn’t work I get to start all over again. The golden yellow universal connection crown is coming nicely as well.
Painting 6
More detail work on her hair with white and dark brown colors. The ornate crown extending from the top of her head now has some dimensional work.
Painting 7
Here is my favorite color to work with when it comes to backgrounds… yellow! Here you can see the white rays coming from Saharara’s head and it felt right to have a white outline around her body.
Painting 8
Colors of orange and orange-red around the edges of the canvas to create the feeling of the bright light emanating outwards. Love how the bright colors add vibrancy to the painting.
Painting 9
Painted tones of reds and blues on the top edge of the canvas, which will help make the ball of white light stand out even more.
Finale… hello and welcome
