Welcome to the Art Blog Hop where you get to discover new artists from around the world featured on this site and many others. I was invited by a fellow artist Rebekah Nemethy from an art Facebook group to participate in this international project.
Rebekah is an amazing photographer who loved using the camera since she was 14 years old. Since January 2014 she has taken on a project where she creates weekly photos along with 100 words to go with it. With no end in sight for this project, we expect to see this amazing photos on her website http://reflectivephotos.net.
What I admire about her is her desire to want to contribute to the community on a global scale. To date, Rebekah is committed to donate 10% (with the intention of increasing this amount to 50%) of all her art sale profits to several animal rescue organizations. Way a go!
Now, here’s some fun facts about my art as part of this Art Blog Hop:
1. What am I working on?
Chakra goddesses series has just been completed and was showcased this past weekend (November 21-23) at a local tea shop called O5 Tea Bar as my first solo show. This series explores the idea that if a chakra (one of the seven power centers in the body) is a goddess, what would she look like? What would she say? How would she express herself?
When this journey started I wanted to channel in the energy of these goddesses where I would feel into how she wanted to be expressed – lines, body pose, clothing, expression and colors with or without any personal creative input from me. It has been an amazing journey in discovering who they are and the lessons I’ve learned from each of them.

2)How does my work differ from others of its genre?
Since that first encounter with a box of crayons, which inspired youthful works of art all over the walls and furniture of her home, I am possessed a desire to spread and share my love of color with the world. Synergy of bold and vibrant colors, and contemporary imagery, marks my artistic style.
3)Why do I create what I do?
Happiness is the often unsung hero of success and my work focuses on bringing joy, upliftment and inspiration. For people who are looking to revitalize their office and home spaces, my brightly colored images inspired by messages will remind them of the joys of life and spur vision and creativity.
I wish to create new perspectives and understandings through my art. To be reminded that life is full of color, and take them from worlds of grey. I wish to impact clients on a global scale by introducing brightness into their lives.
4)How does my creating process work?
The creative process vary between series. It all starts with inspiration that comes in various forms and ways. – nature, personal experience, messages I want to express, interactions with Life or intuition.
Depending on the series I may do rough sketches to get an idea of what I am wanting to create or do some research through books or online to get some visual ideas before painting. Even in the painting process what I originally had in mind as the end result may change when it is all done.
For the Sensual series this was all about expressing various emotions of the feminine. I had started with various quick sketches to get an idea of the elements I would be using such as swirls of hair, lips, eyes and the gerbera flower.
For Love Is series this inspiration came from a personal development workshop where we explored the question “what is love”. Using art I wanted to express the various forms and types of love we can experience in Life.
There is no one exact way for me to reach the final destination and I welcome new processes to come into play to help me achieve the end result of expressing and bringing joy and vibrant colors to people’s lives.
