What a great way to celebrate one’s birthday with an art auction to raise money for a local charity called Baby Go Round (www.babygoround.ca). This Vancouver based organization collects and distributes new and gently used essential baby gear and clothing for children 0-4 years old to families in need. The Pink and Black Art Auction 2015 called upon 20 professional and emerging artists to partake. Great opportunity to display our latest works of art (available for sale) and to generously donate a piece (original or print) to will be auctioned later in the evening by a professional auctioneer.

The prestigious and elegant Vancouver Club in downtown was the lucky venue to host this event. Over 50 art lovers and patrons socialized, nibbled, drank and talked about their favorite art pieces displayed on the easels throughout the room while live jazz music filled with atmosphere.

This was my chance to showcase the Sensual Series (http://www.divinitychan.com/sensual) as I felt this would stand out with the bold colors, graphic lines and organic shapes.

Here are two that wanted to show:

TOP: fiery and rapturous “Ecstasy” (http://www.divinitychan.com/sensual/ecstasy)

BOTTOM: seductive mysterious “Sensual” (http://www.divinitychan.com/sensual/sensual).

For the auction piece I donated one 8″x10″ print of the calmly, blissful yet sensuous “Blue” (http://www.divinitychan.com/sensual/blue) since I was showcasing the Sensual series.

And the lucky winner of this auction piece is… (drum roll please…) Congratulations to Christine who won this piece in a grueling bidding battle. She is one of my biggest fans and collector of my work. The biggest compliment a collector can give an artist is knowing their work will be cherished and admired in their home.

How did the evening end? Well, thanks to everyone we have raised $1974.50!
